From Nursery through Fifth Grade
Matthew 19:14 - Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
At New Song City Central, we believe God for church and societal reformation in the way children are valued. We believe childhood is a profound time to shape and affect a person's identity. We put tremendous value in helping each child understand God's love so they are entering middle school with confidence! Our desire is for a child to have a strong foundation in knowing who they are, their purpose, and their continual need for Jesus. We believe that this is the foundational work that Proverbs 22:6 was speaking of.
Proverbs 22:6 - "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.."
Practically, the vision for New Song Kid's Church (ages 0 to Fifth Grade) is that our kids would know and experience the love, compassion, and saving grace of Jesus Christ. We desire to “train” our kids spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally to be followers of Christ. Saturday Kid's Church at New Song is the foundation of our kids program. All evangelism, outreach, and other programs are birthed out of a dynamic and successful church service for kids. The goals of the NS Kids Church service include safety, structure, discipline, fun, relationship building, absolute truth, and in all of this - love.
We believe that every child is:
The components of a Saturday night service include:
If you came to New Song on a Saturday night and peeked into one of the kids' ministry rooms, our workers do not look like typical church people in America! Smiling, sweaty, joy filled and full of love - the workers are pouring out their hearts to help each child grow. For the ministry worker, Kids Church is a place to shape character and grow personally in giving love away.
Because of this, our leaders must be developed. It is our belief that each adult leader within children's ministry must be in a discipleship relationship. This takes place within the greater New Song church body. We believe that children's leaders are part of the whole of the church and are mixing with adults not only from children's ministry but with leaders from other ministries. Foundationally, a leader must be discipled so that they are receiving God's truth and love from a respected adult as they are pouring out these same gifts to children.
