New Song College Ministry
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
The goal of the college ministry of New Song is simply to reach every person on that campus with the good news of Jesus. That each person would be transformed personally by the love of Jesus Christ and be sent to take it with them wherever they go in the world. We are interested in those involved in the ministries are personally effected in such a way that they are taking Jesus to the nations as a result of the way they have personally been transformed.
We also believe there is a great move the Lord wants to do among the college campuses in the US for the raising up of 200,000 full time missionaries to go into the nations with the good news of Jesus. This is called Operation Mobilize and will be a partnership between many churches, mission organizations, and other groups that want to reach the world for Jesus. We believe the campuses and students in the Tacoma area are going to play a very significant role in this movement the Lord is birthing to continue the reaching of the world with His message of hope and love.
Reaching the students is being done in different ways on different campuses. In some places, people have literally moved to be within a block of the campus. On other campuses, we are simply working to support ministries that are already in existence by coming alongside and supporting them. Some of the campuses we are reaching are Pacific Lutheran University, University of Puget Sound, Tacoma Community College, and the University of Washington Tacoma.
After New Song services and during the week, there are Bible studies for the different campuses, discipleship groups, and fun activities for each campus. At least once every month there are fun activities on Saturday nights after the New Song service. These are open to anyone of college age. In addition to becoming a part of these activities there are times of intercession open for people to come and pray for the campuses and the students who attend there.
