New Song Worship

New Song is a place where powerful worship experiences fan the flame for transformation in our personal lives. The passion of David's heart as a worshipper is often cited as the example of how the team approaches worship leadership.

The heart to see Jesus receive all of the credit has to be our driving desire as we live out our lives in worship. Our corporate worship flows out of the integrity we walk with as we worship throughout the week. Our desire as a church is to see worship move from the sanctuary to the streets so that people who encounter the believer will see the attributes of God operating visibly in our lives.

Worship

Worship: Your number one desire must become that God would obtain the glory that is due His Name. Bow Your knee, extend your hands, go to your rightful place, and may your lips proclaim to the dying and the unbelieving that God is the one who saves. Our God is the one who rescues... who heals... who restores... God has put justice to the scales and His name is matchless. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Seek above all things to know God... Draw near to God and hide His words in your heart!!

In Tacoma our passion has unfolded in a desire to train both worship leaders and those who desire to lead worship. The training up of musicians and releasing them into there calling has now evolved in City Central Records. This group desires to see the power of worship released in the following ways:

  1. Physical healing through worship: When Jesus was allowed to freely minister in the Gospels we find that he healed all kinds of sickness and disease. However, when unbelief or religion were present He was hindered in working his ministry. We desire God's presence in our times of worship and invite Jesus to be himself. We believe that if God is allowed to be himself then we will see great works of healing in worship.
  2. The tearing down of Christian music scaffolding: "For profit" "For fame" mentality will be torn down. Christian music is often directed to where the profit is available. This means that many of the places that need our music the most will never hear it. We desire our music to be available for free to those who are unable to afford it. We want songs of love, hope, and healing to be sung in homeless shelters, on street corners, in prisons, in a gym full of high school students, in concert halls, or in the simplicity of a solitary place with Jesus. Proceeds from sales will be used to make this music available to those who can't purchase it. Our goal is not for our profit or fame, but for His profit and fame.
  3. Truly courageous musicians: City Central Records is not in search of the most talented musicians, but the most courageous. One of the greatest hindrances to a musician's ability is fear. True courage stands in the face of the common worldview and boldly lives for Jesus. We believe that the talent of musicians who live this way will be exponentially increased as they live their lives fully sold out for Jesus!
  4. Deliverance through worship: In the Old Testament worshippers were sent out in front of the army to lead the charge to victory. We believe that this is still true today as we worship our God. Our desire is for personal and corporate deliverance to occur in our times of worship as God is invited to be Himself among us. Thanks be to God who always leads us in Triumph!
  5. Re-creating musicians, songwriters, and worshippers:God's original design for His worshippers was for them to be a people after His own heart. In God's presence there is an endless wealth of music to be played, songs to be written, and worship to be sung. This music is available to those who are willing to come humbly before the Lord with clean hands and a pure heart. Our desire is for His music to be birthed from this place of brokenness.
  6. Common Need: Our music speaks to the common needs of all man. A verse to a song by Aaron Barker says, "I've seen the children playing in the streets. They're left alone at night, the only things they know is to fight. They're crying out, 'won't somebody look at me! You think I'll trust you, yeah right, I've heard that all my life.' I cannot watch it anymore, You're their only hope and I know the truth and you have set me free, I hear your voice it's calling me." Jesus said it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. We are called to share the Gospel truth with those who are broken and in need of healing.
